Morning at Rifugio Torrani (2984 m)

I’ve woken at Rifugio Torrani many a times over the years. I’ve woken here after a night of snowfall in late August. And I’ve woken here when mist obscured almost everything in sight.

But, there’s nothing quite like waking up here on a clear day and the peaks on the other side of the valley are on full display!

Like this morning! On the other side of the valley you can see Pelmo. Panning left and right you can see Sorapiss and Antelao and Becco di Mezzodi and Croda da Lago and Cristallo and Tre Cime da Lavaredo and on… and on… and on… all the way to Grossglockner, the highest peak in Austria. And then some more… the perfect start to another mountain day!

The image below illustrates the depth and abundance of peaks visible from Rifugio Torrani.
